HEMI ROLLESTON

Ngāti Whakaue, Te Arawa, Tauranga Moana

Hemi is  a graduate of the Stanford University Business Leaders Bootcamp (2013 and 2015) and was the 2012 recipient of the NZ Institute of Director's Aspiring Director Award (for BOP Branch).

Hemi has held a number of senior executive roles including Chief Executive of Te Awanui Hukapak Ltd and Callaghan Innovation and was recently General Manager of Te Ao Māori and Science Services, at Scion. He is currently the Chair of Ngāti Whakaue Assets Trust, Inzone Education Foundation, the MacDiarmid Institute and Kumikumi Trust.


Kerri Anne Hancock

He uri a Kerri Anne nō te whānau Rogers– nō Ngāti Whakaue (Ngāti Tunohopu, Ngāti Hurungaterangi, Ngāti Te Rorooterangi) nō Ngāti Rangiwewehi me Ngāti Tarawhai anō hoki.

E noho ana a Kerri Anne me tōna whānau ki to rātau papakainga ki Mangakākahi – kai raro i te maru o Pukehāngi. Ko Michael Hancock tōna hoa tāne, ā, tokotoru ō raua tamariki, Maraea (10), Justin (8) me Te Waere (6).

Kerri Anne’s professional background is fairly diverse across both the public and private sector, and includes Treaty settlement negotiations, environmental kaupapa and leadership positions within her iwi.  She graduated from the University of Auckland with a bachelor degree in Psychology and Māori Studies. In 2019 Kerri Anne was awarded the Emerging Leader award in the Westpac Rotorua Business Excellence Awards for the work she has done in her governance positions for Ngāti Rangiwewehi.

Today, Kerri Anne is the Aho (Practice Manager) for Te Kāhui Raraunga (the operational arm of the Data Iwi Leaders Group). Prior to this she was Tauwharenga (GM) for Rotoiti 15 Ahu Whenua Trust. Kerri Anne is the Trust’s representative on Kakano Whakatipu Ltd and a Trustee on Toi Kai Rawa – a Charitable Trust focused on accelerating Māori economic development in the Bay of Plenty. Kerri Anne is also managing director for Kaupare Consultancy which undertakes strategic planning and te reo Māori focused kaupapa nationwide.


JASON ROGERS

Jason’s father is Graham Rogers and he is from the Rogers whānau of Ngāti Whakaue (Ngāti Te Roro o te Rangi koromatua hapū) and the Leonard whānau of Ngāti Rangiwewehi.

Jason has a Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS with Honours) from Waikato University and is a qualified CA.  He has worked for a top 4 Global CA firm – EY (for 6 years), a US investment bank – Bankers Trust (1 year), a large UK private equity house – Pacific Investments PLC (4 years) and a top 10 National Group Builder – Generation Homes (5 years).   He is a professional director and also undertakes lead advisory services for select clients undertaking “M&A”, “buy outs / buy ins”, “raising private equity & debt”, finding “strategic partners” and a range of projects with complexity.  He has a wide range of experience in governance, strategy, leadership mentoring, shareholder disputes, land development, property investment, strategic partnerships, business development, direct investment and private equity. 

He is passionate about advancing the interests of Iwi by utilising economic capacity to deliver better outcomes.  


Tupara Morrison

Tupara is from the Morrison and Mitchell whānau of Ngāti Whakaue (Ngāti Hurungaterangi, Ngāti Pukaki ngā koromatua hapū)

A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Tupara is an accounting and finance graduate from Massey University and brings over 30 years of executive and governance experience in both the public and private sectors. He was a foundation trustee of Ngati Whakaue Assets Trust in 2009 leaving in 2012 to be the Chief Executive of Ngāti Whātua Orākei Whai Maia Ltd.

Tupara is Auckland based and is currently the Māori development lead for Air New Zealand. Tupara has strong relationships with local and central Government and his technical skills are in governance, financial management, business development and strategic partnerships.

Te Kooanga Awatere

Ko Ngāti Whakaue te iwi

Ko Ngāti Te Roro o te Rangi te hapū

Te Kooanga is a Solicitor, and has tertiary qualifications in Māori studies, Māori resource management and te reo Māori.  She is currently a Senior Advisor with the Justice Sector Directorate.  Te Kooanga has both private and public sector experience, in research, legal, policy, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi advice. 

She is looking to governance roles in the next stage of her career. Recently relocated to Rotorua with her whānau, she is bi-lingual and bi-cultural, and able to integrate differing perspectives to identify issues and develop solutions.

Te Kooanga completed the Ngāti Whakaue Governance Essentials Course in 2022 and shortly after, with the supoort of Te Taratī, was appointed as a Board Observer with the Rotorua Regional Airport.

Te Kooanga is excited for the year ahead to learn and be mentored by Ngāti Whakaue governors.

Waihō mā tō hinengaro māori koe e kawe ki te ao”

He pākārito ahau nō te whānau Kingi. He māmā whakatipu tamariki reo māori ki roto i te ao māori.

Angela is a Solicitor with Kāhui Legal currently on maternity.

She took part in the second cohort of Ngāti Whakaue Governance Wānanga, 2023.

Peter Rice

Peter has worked in law and finance for over 25 years across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.

He is the founder of Clearpoint Advisors Limited – a boutique regulatory, financial services and economics advisory firm in London, with a focus on banking and finance. 

Peter advises a number of blue chip multi-national companies, supporting their financing, investment and treasury operations.

Peter is the interim CEO of Te Arawa Fisheries Group companies and a member of Te Moana a Toi Iwi Aquaculture Working Group.

Candice Waiti Richards

Nō Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Pikiao, Ngāti Mākino, Ngāti Rangitihi

Candice grew up in Ōhinemutu and has almost 20years of experience as a Chartered Accountant and Finance professional in large organisations in Aotearoa and internationally.

Candice is looking forward to the opportunity to be involved in assisting our iwi to achieve mana motuhake, for ourselves and our mokopuna. She will be focusing her skills in collaboration and commerce to ensure success for the Trust and for our iwi more generally.
